As noted, in recent years, the Chamber of Accounts has been carrying out systematic work, based on the initiatives of the Head of State, to improve the public audit system in line with international standards and to widely introduce digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

During the first half of 2026, the Chamber of Accounts conducted 55 audit activities, 33 of which were carried out remotely.

An external audit of the report on the execution of the State Budget for 2025 identified financial errors amounting to UZS 106.5 billion, violations of legal requirements in the field of public procurement amounting to UZS 1.4 trillion, and additional sources of tax revenue amounting to UZS 123.9 billion.

As a result of the audit activities, financial errors amounting to UZS 1.5 trillion were identified, UZS 2.3 trillion was optimized, illegal expenditures amounting to UZS 20.1 billion were prevented, and UZS 266.2 billion was recovered to the budget. In addition, additional sources of taxes and mandatory payments amounting to UZS 1.6 trillion were identified, of which UZS 556 billion was recovered to the budget. In the field of public procurement, violations of legal requirements amounting to UZS 9.1 trillion were identified.

Over the course of six months, the Chamber of Accounts’ Remote Control Center identified risks amounting to UZS 27.1 trillion. Of this amount, risks totaling UZS 8 trillion were eliminated, while violations amounting to UZS 90 billion were prevented at an early stage.

In the “Remote Audit” information system, the use of artificial intelligence was automated in five areas, resulting in the elimination of violations of the law amounting to UZS 107 billion. Currently, approximately 1,000 responsible employees from more than 200 organizations use the system.

To further expand digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence in public audit, a relevant Presidential Decree was signed on July 6, 2026. The document sets out tasks to establish an “Artificial Intelligence Laboratory” within the Chamber of Accounts, introduce modern digital modules, maintain a budget discipline rating, and train highly qualified specialists in the field of public audit.

The Chamber of Accounts is also consistently expanding its international cooperation. During the first half of this year, cooperation and engagement with the supreme audit institutions of Azerbaijan, Slovenia and China were further developed. On May 22–23, an international conference of young auditors was held in Tashkent, bringing together more than 50 young auditors from over 30 countries.

In the second half of 2026, work will continue to ensure the efficiency and legality of budget expenditures, strengthen oversight of the completeness of state revenues, and expand the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in public audit.
