Issues of providing practical assistance to the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement in preventing corruption and embezzlement in the field of public procurement, as well as expanding mutual cooperation, were discussed.
During each regional visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, consistent measures are being implemented to improve ongoing socio-economic reforms, address local challenges, and define development priorities across sectors.
As part of the President’s visit to Ohangaron district of Tashkent region on February 13, 2026, instructions were given to the Compliance Service of the Presidential Administration and the Chamber of Accounts to provide practical assistance to the Agency and strengthen cooperation in preventing corruption and embezzlement in public procurement.
In execution of this directive, a meeting was held at the Chamber of Accounts with representatives of the Agency (hereinafter — the Agency), dedicated to improving the public procurement system and preventing corruption and embezzlement in the sector.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts M. Abdullayev, Director of the Agency B. Haydarov, Head of Department of the Compliance Service of the Presidential Administration U. Aripov, and other representatives. Participants exchanged views on prospects for cooperation.
Key issues discussed included ensuring transparency in public procurement, enhancing competition, improving efficiency in the use of budget funds, and expanding the use of digital technologies in procurement processes, including:
– integration of procurement portals with government information systems;
– development of big data and risk analysis systems;
– automation of tender evaluation processes to reduce human involvement;
– creation of monitoring systems for corporate procurement entities;
– review of direct contracting practices;
– ensuring transparency of procurement contracts;
– training systems for procurement officials.
The capabilities of the “Remote Audit” information system were also presented during the meeting.
This system is aimed at improving procurement efficiency and preventing violations.
The parties also emphasized the importance of adopting international best practices, including risk management, use of open data, and application of artificial intelligence in procurement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, instructions were given to develop a joint cooperation roadmap and action plan.
