XXV INTOSAI Congress Agenda: Artificial Intelligence in Audit

As previously reported, a delegation of the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of Uzbekistan participated in XXV Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt, from October 27–31, 2025.

The Congress included a plenary session on "Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Audit Processes." Representatives from Egypt, the United Kingdom, India, Norway, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and other countries shared their experiences.

The participants emphasized that the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the public audit system will significantly improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

The achievements of Uzbekistan’s COA in digitalization, particularly in the field of AI technologies, received special recognition from many developed countries participating in the Congress, including Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan proposed organizing webinars to promote the experience of the COA of Uzbekistan.

The COA is currently conducting a risk analysis in public procurement, addressing conflicts of interest, affiliations, and compliance of goods with documents (invoices) specified in the contract.

Furthermore, following bilateral negotiations with the SAI of Saudi Arabia at the Congress, an agreement was reached to establish an "Artificial Intelligence Laboratory" within the COA, with the practical support of this institution. The laboratory will conduct academic research in the fields of digital audit, AI, big data analysis, and information security.

The COA will consistently continue to conduct remote audits using AI, drawing on best international practices.
