A meeting with a group of experts led by the head of ADB operations in Uzbekistan M. Gulyamov was held in the COA. The parties discussed the development of mutual cooperation in the framework of improving the system of public financial control in Uzbekistan.

The first deputy chairman of the COA M. Abdullaev presented information on the processes of modern transformation in this institution and long-term plans. It was noted that the transition from previous financial inspections to an audit based on advanced international standards has been made. The COA has been transformed into an institution providing professional conclusions.

Based on international experience, standards for financial audit, performance audit, compliance, strategic audit and IT standards have been developed, as well as methodological recommendations for their implementation. 35 departmental and regulatory legal acts have also been adopted by the COA recently.

In addition, the COA, together with the ADB, recently conducted a pilot audit of one of the important projects being implemented in our country.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further strengthening cooperation between the ADB and the COA to improve the public financial control system, including digitalization of the external audit process and capacity building.
