Audit of State Theaters’ Activities
The Chamber of Accounts conducted a remote audit to assess the level of provision of state theaters, the condition of services provided, and the efficiency of their operations.

A total of 41 theaters operate within the system of the Ministry of Culture, including 16 musical drama theaters, 12 puppet theaters, 7 drama theaters, as well as 2 youth theaters, 2 theaters for young audiences, and 2 theater studios.
On average, one theater in the country serves 916 thousand people. The highest indicator is observed in Tashkent city (259 thousand people), while the lowest indicators are in Surkhandarya (1.4 million), Namangan (1.5 million), and Kashkadarya (1.8 million) regions.
The audit highlighted the importance of effectively organizing promotional activities to enhance the role and status of theaters in society, as well as establishing parking facilities for visitors.
Relevant recommendations were also developed to increase the attractiveness of vacant positions through financial incentives for theater staff and to improve creative production efficiency in line with modern requirements, including the provision of press secretaries and PR specialists.
In addition, it was analyzed that improving staff qualifications abroad contributes to enhancing the quality of productions, increasing the efficiency of theater activities, and improving theater management.
It was determined that efforts should be made to modernize stage productions, promote culture in remote areas, and enhance the cultural awareness of the population.
The use of social media in theater management for promoting performances and increasing audience numbers was also analyzed.
Based on the audit results, relevant proposals and recommendations were developed to further improve the efficiency of state theaters.
