Representative of the Supreme Audit Institution of Hungary Kristof Kovacs: “The Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan Is an Audit Institution Demonstrating an Exemplary Approach”
From 21 to 23 May 2026, Tashkent hosted the international conference on “Digitalization of Audit Processes and Analysis of Big Data through Artificial Intelligence,” attended by Kristof Kovacs, representative of the Supreme Audit Institution of Hungary. He highly evaluated the conference and shared his impressions.

“Uzbekistan turned out to be a much more developed country than I expected and, moreover, continues to develop at a very rapid pace,” emphasized Kristof Kovacs.
According to him, the Accounts Chamber not only possesses broad powers but is also able to implement them effectively in practice.
“Having broad authority is good, but using it effectively in practice is even better. Uzbekistan is demonstrating an exemplary approach in this direction.”
Speaking about international cooperation among Supreme Audit Institutions, Mr. Kovacs stressed that each country has only one supreme audit institution and explained why such conferences are especially valuable:
“Every country has only one supreme audit institution. Therefore, engaging internationally, learning from each other, and exchanging experience are essential. Meeting representatives from many countries in one place is a valuable opportunity.”
Describing the organization of the conference in one word as “excellent,” Mr. Kovacs noted that the event was conducted at an exceptionally high level both technically and logistically, as well as in terms of content and substance.
He also particularly highlighted the sincerity and supportiveness of the organizing staff, referring to them as “my personal friends.”
After visiting the Accounts Chamber’s Remote Monitoring Center, the Hungarian guest expressed special interest in its activities.
“Integrating databases of such a wide range of government institutions into a single system is a major achievement.”
The Hungarian specialist emphasized that applying this experience in Hungary could become one of the new areas of bilateral cooperation.
He also underlined the need to further expand international cooperation in the field of IT audit, as the use of technology in public auditing is becoming increasingly important.
At the conclusion of the conference, the Hungarian guest made a short and clear proposal:
“Let’s hold such conferences every year!”
