“Situation Centre” inaugurated at the Ministry of Water Resources

An opening ceremony for the “Situation Centre” was held at the Ministry of Water Resources. Representatives from the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Accounts (COA), the Ministries of Water Resources, Agriculture, Economy and Finance, Digital Technologies, the Tax Committee, Uzinfocom, and other relevant organizations participated in the event.

Speaking at the opening, Deputy Minister of Water Resources Z. Ishpulatov noted that, under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms are being implemented in this system. In particular, special attention is being paid to meeting the needs of economic sectors and the population for irrigation water, the rational and efficient use of available resources, and the digitalization of industry management.

The “Situation Centre”, created at the initiative and with the participation of the COA, monitors processes related to water and energy resource accounting and the targeted use of funds allocated to the water sector. To this end, technical improvements and further refinement of existing water management software were carried out in collaboration with Uzinfocom.

A unified "Digital Water Resources Management" platform was developed, enabling the collection, synthesis, and analysis of data from all existing industry software products.

As a result, the ability to obtain daily, up-to-date information on water use issues has been further enhanced. The processes for setting water intake limits for more than 630,000 water consumers in the republic and coordinating them with district Kengashes (Councils) of People's Deputies have been completely converted to electronic format.

Furthermore, data from over 8,000 electricity meters installed by JSC RES at pumping stations has been connected to the "Pumping Stations" information system, enabling electronic metering of electricity consumption.

The system for monitoring land reclamation, monitoring the technical condition of water management structures, maintaining a water cadastre, and water management balances has been improved. A centralized system for monitoring and managing water use processes has been created.

Information systems have improved the monitoring capabilities of over 30,000 digital devices installed at water management facilities. This prevents up to 20 percent of technical water losses during water metering and management.
