Delegation of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan Meets with the President of Latvia

On 19 August this year, a delegation headed by M. Abdullaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in a meeting with Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of the Republic of Latvia.

Official delegations of the supreme audit institutions of Latvia, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.


Particular attention was paid to the role of supreme audit institutions in improving the efficiency of public administration, ensuring the rational and effective use of public funds, and strengthening openness and transparency.


The meeting also addressed issues related to further developing international cooperation in the field of public audit, exchanging best practices, and strengthening the institutional capacity of supreme audit institutions.


During the dialogue, Latvian President E. Rinkēvičs highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan at the initiative of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev, particularly the changes aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration, ensuring openness and transparency, and enhancing the public financial management system. It was noted that a modern and effective public audit system plays an important role in these processes.


During the meeting, M. Abdullaev provided information on the large-scale transformation processes being implemented in Uzbekistan’s public financial control system at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.


In particular, he spoke about the work being carried out to digitalize audit processes, utilize modern information technologies and data analytics tools, expand remote audit mechanisms, and organize control activities based on risk analysis.


It was noted that Uzbekistan has established the Higher School of Public Audit for the first time and introduced a system for training professionals in line with international standards.

During the meeting with the President of Latvia, it was also noted that practical cooperation between the supreme audit institutions of Uzbekistan and Latvia is at a high level.


In particular, special attention is being paid to introducing international audit standards, applying modern audit approaches in practice, and improving the professional qualifications of auditors.

The President of Latvia conveyed his sincere greetings to the Leader of Uzbekistan and described Uzbekistan as an initiator of positive trends in Central Asia.


The visit of the delegation of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Riga was productive.
