Cooperation between the COA and ACCA highlighted

An online meeting was held between the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of the Republic of Uzbekistan and ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) of the United Kingdom.

The meeting focused on public finance management, the implementation of best international practices in auditing, and the professional development of COA’s staff.


At the meeting, views were exchanged on the prospects for developing cooperation between the COA and ACCA. The parties noted the need to implement international auditing practices and develop joint initiatives to enhance skills and capacity.


For reference: ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is one of the world's most respected international organizations in the field of accounting and auditing, operating in more than 180 countries. ACCA strives to implement advanced knowledge in international standards, financial reporting, and to improve the qualifications of auditors.


During the discussions, the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Parties was discussed. Within the framework of this document, the Parties plan to implement joint projects aimed at sharing knowledge and experience in auditing, organizing training seminars, and enhancing the professional potential of employees.


At the meeting, ACCA also announced the following proposals:

– Familiarizing COA’s employees with advanced international trends by inviting them to technical webinars;

– Supporting the certification system for state auditors, including providing technical and methodological assistance in developing a training program in this area;

– Organizing joint conferences on targeted topics in cooperation with the COA;

– Supporting the enhancement of the professional knowledge and skills of COA’s employees by creating additional opportunities on the ACCA training platform.

– Obtaining ACCA Approved Employer status for the COA.


At the end of the meeting, the Parties announced the commencement of work to translate the discussions into practical action, agree on a draft Memorandum, and strengthen cooperation.
