Meeting Held at the Chamber of Accounts with Members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis
A meeting with members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was held at the Chamber of Accounts. During the event, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts M. Abdullayev welcomed the participants and emphasized that such meetings serve as an important platform for further improving the system of state external audit, strengthening cooperation with Parliament, and discussing the reforms being implemented in the sector.
During the meeting, participants were informed about the large-scale reforms undertaken in recent years to strengthen the activities of the Chamber of Accounts. In particular, it was noted that four important Presidential Decrees aimed at improving the state external audit system had been adopted over the past two years. Special attention was drawn to the recently adopted decree, which sets out strategic objectives for the widespread introduction of artificial intelligence and digitalization.
As emphasized during the meeting, the Chamber of Accounts has been systematically introducing modern approaches to organizing audit and oversight activities based on digital technologies. Today, the practice of conducting audits remotely has significantly expanded, and during the first half of the current year, nearly 60 percent of all audits were carried out in a remote format.
The effectiveness of remote oversight was also highlighted. In particular, risks amounting to UZS 27.1 trillion were identified, of which risks totaling UZS 8 trillion were eliminated, while financial irregularities amounting to UZS 90 billion were prevented. In addition, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies across five areas within the "Remote Audit" information system led to the elimination of violations amounting to UZS 107 billion.
It was also reported that earlier this year the Legislative Chamber reviewed the Chamber of Accounts' Annual Report, following which a dedicated Action Program was adopted based on the proposals and recommendations put forward by members of Parliament. The program covers priority areas such as improving legislation, monetary policy, the management of state assets, the development of the internal audit system, and digitalization.
As part of the event, presentations were delivered to members of Parliament on the work being carried out in these priority areas. In addition, a draft law proposing amendments to the Law on the Chamber of Accounts to incorporate provisions related to artificial intelligence and digitalization was presented. The initial views and recommendations of the deputies regarding the substance of the draft law were discussed.
The meeting was held in an open and constructive atmosphere, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange views on further improving the effectiveness of the state external audit system, expanding the use of digital technologies, and consistently strengthening constructive cooperation with Parliament.
