Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between the Committee on Budget and Economic Issues of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Chamber of Accounts
A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Committee on Budget and Economic Issues of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Memorandum is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Parliament and the supreme external audit institution, enhancing the use of the Chamber of Accounts' professional expertise in the legislative process, and improving parliamentary oversight mechanisms.
Under the Memorandum, the parties will closely cooperate in improving legislation related to the state budget, taxation, customs and public finance, as well as in the preparation and consideration of draft laws. The document also envisages the involvement of highly qualified experts of the Chamber of Accounts in the legislative process, the establishment of joint working groups, and cooperation in parliamentary oversight activities aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of legislation.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate in the following areas:
providing scientific and practical support to the legislative process in the fields of budgetary and economic policy;
studying and introducing international best practices in public financial control and external audit;
jointly developing analytical materials and recommendations to strengthen parliamentary oversight;
conducting research activities and preparing methodological and analytical materials;
organizing joint public awareness activities to explain legislation related to public finance and budgetary issues.
The Memorandum also provides a legal framework for regular exchange of information, holding working meetings and consultations, and jointly developing initiatives to further improve national legislation.
This cooperation is expected to contribute to the ongoing democratic reforms in Uzbekistan by strengthening transparency and accountability in public finance management, enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary oversight, and further developing the national external audit system.
The Memorandum entered into force on the date of its signing and serves as a legal basis for long-term cooperation between the parties.
