Kyrgyzstan hosted a seminar on "Ensuring the independence of public audit"

A practical seminar on "Ensuring the independence of public audit" was held in the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of Kyrgyzstan from September 1 to 4, 2025. It involved representatives of Supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The seminar was attended by representatives of the SAIs of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Belarus and the COA of the Republic of Uzbekistan.


The seminar was also attended by representatives of the SAIs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan (online).


At the seminar, the auditors from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan made presentations on the independence of public financial control bodies in the CIS, as well as compliance with the principle of independence when conducting audits.


Representatives of the COA of Uzbekistan also presented information on the transformations currently being implemented in the field of public audit in our country. Particular emphasis was placed on the scale of the COA's activities, its objectives and the measures taken to implement international audit standards.


The participants also exchanged experiences in the application of digital technologies for monitoring budget expenditures in audit activities.


At the end of the seminar, the importance of further developing the process of conducting control activities through the digitalization of SAI activities was emphasized.


In addition, in connection with the widespread use of electronic information systems in budget management in the CIS countries, the auditors noted the importance of developing an audit system using the information technologies being implemented, as well as involving professional IT specialists in conducting audits.
