The first meeting of the Consultative Council of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Uzbekistan and Hungary took place in Samarkand

As previously reported, a delegation led by the President of the State Audit Office of Hungary, László Windisch, is currently visiting Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the visit, the first meeting of the Consultative Council of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Uzbekistan and Hungary was held in the city of Samarkand. During the two-day meeting, the parties reached agreements on sharing audit experience, developing new projects, and promoting sustainable development.

 

The First Deputy Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Uzbekistan, M. Abdullaev, highlighted the high-level strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.

 

The importance of systematically exchanging experiences in areas such as external state audit, the implementation of international auditing standards (ISSAI), and IT-audit between the supreme audit institutions of both countries was emphasized.

 

During the meeting, presentations were delivered on the transformation processes being implemented by the Accounts Chamber of Uzbekistan in the fields of auditing state expenditures and revenues, public procurement, digitalization, and information technologies. The Hungarian side received Uzbekistan’s experience with great interest.

 

Representatives of the State Audit Office of Hungary presented on topics such as central budget monitoring, short-term forecasting, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence solutions.

 

Key areas for future cooperation include improving audit standards and methodologies, conducting interagency scientific and practical research, organizing online consultations, sharing knowledge, and developing joint programs to strengthen human resources.

 

At the conclusion of the visit, a practical cooperation plan for 2025–2027 was signed between the supreme audit institutions of Uzbekistan and Hungary. According to the plan, the parties agreed to hold annual meetings of the Consultative Council, exchange professional interagency documents, and conduct consultations at the professional level between the two organizations.

 

Furthermore, the parties will regularly organize webinars on digitalization, remote monitoring and risk assessment, central budget forecasting analysis, and the expansion of the activities of supreme audit institutions.

 

The Hungarian delegation also participated in a bilateral meeting with the hokim of Samarkand region, A. Boboyev. The meeting focused on expanding regional cooperation. Practical proposals were made to further strengthen relations with Hungary, taking into account Samarkand's transit importance and strategic location.

 

Overall, the visit of László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary, to Uzbekistan marked a new stage in relations between the two institutions.
