International Conference on Digitalization of Public Audit and Artificial Intelligence Officially Opened in Tashkent

A ceremonial opening of the international conference titled “Digitalization of Audit Processes and Analysis of Big Data through Artificial Intelligence” was held in Tashkent.

This prestigious international event was organized in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the initiative of the Chamber of Accounts, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Youth Affairs Agency. The conference has become an international platform for dialogue on introducing digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and modern analytical tools into the field of public audit.


During the opening ceremony, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan M. Abdullayev welcomed participants and emphasized that the conference would become an important historic event for practitioners and the academic community in the field of public audit.


As noted, the conference is being held with the support and close attention of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was announced that the Head of State referred to the participants as “my dear guests” and extended his sincere wishes to them.


The event is attended by delegations of supreme audit institutions from countries across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. In particular, representatives from China, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Pakistan, Hungary, Latvia, and the Czech Republic are participating in the conference.


The event also brings together representatives of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as leading international audit and consulting organizations.


During the conference, participants discuss pressing issues such as digital transformation in public administration, the use of artificial intelligence technologies in auditing, big data analytics, remote audit systems, automated control mechanisms, and cybersecurity.


The conference continued in two parallel sessions on the topics: “Information Technology Audit: assessment of information systems in a digital environment, risk management, and control mechanisms” and “Challenges and innovative solutions in intelligent analysis of big data in public auditing.”


As emphasized during the event, digital technologies and artificial intelligence are fundamentally transforming public administration and audit systems worldwide. In this regard, Uzbekistan is implementing large-scale reforms aimed at digitalizing public services, ensuring transparency, and improving efficiency.


Within the framework of the conference, the results of digital transformation implemented by the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan were also presented. In particular, it was announced that Big Data analytics, machine learning algorithms, and risk-based remote audit mechanisms had been introduced into audit processes.


Currently, 817 information system modules have been launched within the Chamber of Accounts, and 80 types of risk analyses across 55 areas are being carried out automatically. It was also noted that the “HP-AI Audit-Assistant” artificial intelligence platform has been launched to identify risks related to conflicts of interest and contract execution in public procurement.


Over the two-day conference, participants will have the opportunity to exchange advanced international practices, discuss new approaches in auditing, and define future areas of cooperation.


Notably, this event is being organized for the first time in the history of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a large-scale international forum within the frameworks of AZOSAI and INTOSAI dedicated to digitalization and artificial intelligence in public audit.
