A delegation of the Supreme Audit Institution of the Republic of Slovenia visited the Chamber of Accounts

A bilateral meeting was held at the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by the President of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia (Supreme Audit Institution), Yana Ahchin. The guests were received by the First Deputy Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Uzbekistan, M. Abdullaev.

For reference: The Court of Audit of Slovenia is an independent state body that oversees the use of public funds. It audits all entities that use funds from the Slovenian state and the European Union. The institution submits an annual report on its activities to the National Assembly (Parliament).


At the beginning of the meeting, it was emphasized that this visit is an important step in strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovenia. It was noted that these developments are the result of openness policies and large-scale reforms carried out by the leaders of both countries.


Slovenia’s achievements in public administration, a transparent financial system, and the audit sector were highly appreciated, and their importance for Uzbekistan was highlighted.


During the meeting, M. Abdullaev provided information on the reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, including efforts to improve public audit based on international standards and to ensure digitalization.


In particular, it was noted that Presidential Decrees aimed at improving the activities of the Chamber of Accounts , the “Remote Audit” information system, the AI-based “HP-AI Audit Assistant” platform, and an online system for monitoring the efficiency of budget funds using Big Data technologies have been introduced.


The Slovenian side delivered thematic presentations on the institution’s activities, legal framework, objectives, and approaches to selecting audit topics.


In turn, auditors of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan presented on auditing the state budget, control mechanisms, implementation of international standards, digital transformation, and remote monitoring.


At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed. The parties agreed to exchange experience in external public audit methodology, enhance professional skills, exchange documents, conduct consultations, and organize joint and parallel audits as well as thematic webinars.


It was also agreed to study Slovenia’s experience in preparing post-audit reports. The practice of providing professional recommendations to users of public funds will also be analyzed and introduced where appropriate.


Particular interest was expressed in Slovenia’s advanced experience in the following areas:


audit of state budget execution;


municipal audit;


audit of state-owned enterprises;


audit of investment projects and natural resource management.


The parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation.


The Slovenian side invited the delegation of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan to participate for the first time in the “Visegrad Group 4+2” meeting to be held in September in Bled.


At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests were invited to ознакомиться with the activities of the Remote Monitoring Center.


It is expected that this visit will contribute to strengthening cooperation and developing an effective public audit system.
