A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the COA and ACCA

An ACCA delegation made a working visit to the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the Parties discussed public financial management, the implementation of best international audit practices, and the professional development of COA’s staff.

For information: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is one of the most prestigious international accounting and auditing organizations in the world, operating in more than 180 countries. ACCA's goal is to promote advanced knowledge in international standards, financial accountability, and the professional development of auditors.

The COA’s acting chairman M. Abdullaev spoke about the transformations currently underway at the institution. It was noted that the COA has set a priority task of reorganizing its activities based on international standards, transforming auditing from a traditional inspection to a system of analysis, evaluation, and professional opinion.

In turn, ACCA expressed its willingness to collaborate in areas such as familiarizing Accounts Chamber staff with cutting-edge international trends through webinars, organizing joint conferences on targeted topics, and creating additional opportunities on the ACCA training platform.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the COA and ACCA. It outlines the following objectives: developing training and professional development programs for COA’s staff, using technical materials, holding joint conferences, supporting the certification of government auditors, and exploring the possibility of training center accreditation.

The Parties agreed to leverage international auditing experience and develop new joint initiatives to enhance skills and capacity.
