Meeting on preventing conflicts of interest in public procurement

The Ministry of Economy and Finance held an extended meeting with government customers on preventing conflicts of interest and favoritism in public procurement.

It was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Accounts (COA), the Prosecutor General's Office, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Committee for Development of Competition and Consumer Protection, large state-owned enterprises, as well as other ministries and agencies.

The meeting addressed practical measures to ensure transparency and efficiency of public procurement, preventing conflicts of interest and favoritism.

During the event, new instructions and rules were presented to government customers.

The COA provided information on identified cases of conflicts of interest and favoritism in public procurement. It also focused on individual shortcomings and uncertainties in public procurement and stressed the need to take systemic measures to eliminate them.

The event included an exchange of views on increasing the transparency of public procurement, using modern technologies in the fight against corruption, and improving processes.

Plans were presented to develop and implement a new information system using artificial intelligence technologies to prevent similar shortcomings from recurring.
