Modern challenges to law enforcement in the era of digital transformation

A two-day international conference on "Modern challenges and threats to law enforcement in the era of digital transformation" was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It was attended by heads of the Prosecutor General's Office, the National Center for Human Rights, the Supreme Court, the Anti-Corruption Agency, and the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was also attended by representatives of the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, the Turkish Academy of Justice, the Law Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic and others.

The conference included parallel sessions on current issues of science and education in law enforcement, combating cybercrime, corruption and money laundering, and fighting against financing of terrorism.

The deputy chairman of the COA A. Allaberganov made a report on the reforms carried out in this institution. It was noted that the COA has established a Remote Control Centre to analyze large volumes of data based on ‘Big Data’ technologies for digitalization and risk analysis.

As a result, the COA has launched modules for real-time monitoring of illegal government procurement and payments through information systems. At the same time, it was emphasized that, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the COA has begun work on the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.

As part of the reforms carried out in this area, the COA is currently effectively interacting with the Prosecutor General's Office and the Anti-Corruption Agency.

As part of the event, a Memorandum was signed between the COA and the Law Enforcement Academy to establish effective internal anti-corruption control, ensure compliance with the law, and strengthen research activities.
